Domestic violence is a behavior which involves abuse by one person
against another in a domestic setting, such as in marriage or
cohabitation.
Below is a list of Nigerian celebrities who were victims of abusive relationships.


1. Mercy Aigbe
                              
Recently, the marriage of Nollywood actress has faced a lot of scrutiny
with speculations of domestic violence she allegedly suffered from her
hubby, Lanre Gentry. The couple were reportedly in a nasty fight that
left the actress with severe injuries and a fractured skull.
                                   

2. Tonto Dikeh
                              
Nollywood
actress and mother of one, Tonto Dikeh whose marriage crashed just a
few weeks ago also revealed in an interview that her estranged husband,
Oladunni Churchill physically assaulted her on numerous occasions in
their marriage.

3. Muma Gee
                       
Nigerian singer and actor, Muma Gee filed for the divorce of her
husband, Prince Eke who is an actor on the grounds of Domestic violence
amidst other charges.

4. Ajoke, wife of Foston Utomi (Patoranking’s Record Label Boss)
                                
Ajoke, the wife of Patoranking’s label boss, Foston Utomi also suffered
domestic violence in the hands of her husband. She took to Instagram to
share evidence of the domestic abuse and later on declared the marriage
over.
                            

5. Chika Ike
                         
Chika Ike, who has finalised her divorce process from her ex husband
known as Mr Eberibi revealed she divorced him because he physically
assaulted her severally and she lost a baby due to the many fights.

6. Monalisa Chinda
                  
Monalisa Chinda’s revealed that her first marriage to the Question Mark
label boss, Dejo Richards, crashed over claims of domestic violence. A
fact she made known while announcing her speaking engagement at the
Pearls Foundation’s third annual conference in Abuja.
                            

7. Ayo Adesanya
Ayo
Adesanya in an interview on Moments with MO on Ebony TV opened up about
about her domestic violence experience when she was married to her
former husband and actor, Goriola Hassan.
                        

8. Katherine Obiang
Katherine Obiang, actress and on air personality was entangled in a
messy marriage with popular TV personality, Frank Edoho with tales of
domestic violence.

The

also a victim of domestic abuse in her first marriage to Tunde
Shobowale.

marriage to Tee Billz, Savage disclosed Tunji Balogun had been hitting
her before and after their marriage.

in general. Unfortunately their marriage did not last. It was riddled

Georgina Onuoha has also hinted that she was in an abusive marriage with her ex-husband, DR C Igwegbe.
The veteran actress reposted a woman’s confession of being married to a man who molested, beat and humiliated her.
She wrote, “I can imagine her state of mind and what she went through.
I
for one would have said this same prayers 6 years ago with so much hate
in my heart and can count many others who will equally be saying same
prayers. But grace, mercy and forgiveness surpass the pain of
wickedness. I succumbed to God’s grace and strength.
