Tips: 10 Ways To Care For Your African Skin

 
For those of us who understand the realness of the hustle, it might be extremely difficult to pamper your African skin. Rushing out before day break, or the first cock crows, oh sorry, alarm rings, with just a bowl of water to bathe the essential body parts, and a handful of petroleum jelly, a process famously called Rub and Shine, in order to beat road traffic. However, it is expedient to take care of the largest organ of our body that keeps us warm and stunning. Caring for our skin involves a range of practices that support skin integrity, enhance our skin appearances and relieve skin conditions.

Here are some procedures you need to follow:
    1. EXFOLIATE:
This involves the removal of dead skin cells on the skin’s outermost surface. This helps to make your skin look fresher, smoother and softer. Prevent the roughness of your skin caused by the build ups of dead skin cells by exfoliating. To do a simple mixture, add vitamins preferably vitamin c to a blend of water and green clay masque. The clay masque will dry on your face to mildly remove the dead cells, while the vitamins protects the newer skin cells from damage by free radicals.
    2. MAKE USE OF SUN SCREEN:
Contrary to popular belief, you too can get sun burned. Although the melanin in our skin protects us compared to fair skin, we also need sun screen as we are also prone to risk of skin damage from excessive sun exposure. Choose a sunscreen that contains SPF 15 or higher.
3. CLEANSER &TONER:  
Preventing skin conditions like acne and blemishes is an important benefit for using a facial care product to remove make up and other pollutants from the skin of the face. Cleansers and toners are used in removing oil and traces of dirt. They refresh, moisturize, and shrink your sweat pores. Cleanser and Toner are important tools in your skin care régime.
4. WASH TWICE A DAY:
As simple as it may sound, take your bath. After every day hustle and bustle, it’s advisable to keep your skin clean. Don’t overdo it by scrubbing your body hard enough to wipe your guilt away sha.
5. AVOID PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN HYDROQUINONE:
For those who cut and run, flee a responsibility, it is better to be forewarned about the gravity of using products comprising of hydroquinone or harmful bleaching agents. Without speaking much grammar, hydroquinone is known to gradually bleach your skin, it inhibits an enzyme responsible for the production of the color pigment melanin. In the long run this could cause an irreversible discoloration, severe skin irritation, blisters and oozing!
6. FACIAL MASKS: 
Oh! Face Masks! When it comes to skin care procedures, Facial masks are the icing! They are the excellent way to remove impurities .They help improve the appearance of your skin by hydrating your pores.
  7. STEAMING:
Washing your face alone may not be enough, you need to steam at least once a week. The basic method is to boil water to produce steam and direct this over your face. This is to open your pores to remove dead crusts from your skin.
  8. USE PRODUCTS MADE FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE:
Know your skin type: Oily, Dry, Oily and Dry combination. Once you have identified your skin type, ensure you know what products are preferred for your skin. Read product labels to ensure the product is meant for your skin type.
  9. DRINK LOTS OF WATER:
Drinking an adequate amount of water is needed for total wellbeing of your health and since skin is made up of a large quantity of water, it is expedient to drink up.
  10. EAT HEALTHY:
You are what you eat. Your diet plays an important role in maintaining a healthy skin. Just as what you put on is as important as what you put in, healthy eating is a prerequisite for charming skin. Good nutrition helps maintain an attractive complexion.
