Enyimba FC Crowned NPFL Champions For The 7th Time

Well, its a bit late but we think we should still inform the people who do not know; Enyimba FC won this season’s league title yesterday,
with a record setting attendance of up to 40,000 people who came to watch the match live in the stadium.. It was really a fun match.

Enyimba won a record seventh Nigerian Premier League (NPFL) title
after holding Warri Wolves to a goalless draw at the Enyimba
International Stadium in Aba yesterday.

The match was dubbed a potential title decider, with Enyimba
searching for just a point in their final home game against closest
rivals, Wolves and they did just that.
The People’s Elephants wins the championship with one round of match
left to play but are five points ahead of second-placed Wolves.

Enyimba were forced to double their efforts in the game after Nigeria
U23 forward, Daniel Etor was sent off for punching Gbolahan Salami five
minutes after the restart but held on for the important draw.

This win sees Enyimba record their first NPFL title in five years and a
seventh title in total, surpassing Rangers International of Enugu’s
record of six NPFL titles.

The draw took them to 69 points, six clear of Warri Wolves, who will
likely finish in second place and qualify for next year’s CAF Champions
League.
