Good one boss! The electronic rapper hails fromAnambra state,he is the 4th child in a family of “five” In one of his interviews he actually shared little about his background see below: “Phyno: I grew up in a family of five. I’m the fourth child. I grew up in Enugu state in the East. That’s where I was born; my education, everything. I finished everything about me there. It was where I started my career as well.”
CAREER AND LIFE In an interview also he mentioned how he how he started his career and how he has spent a lot of years in Producing songs for people. See the below in his words:
“Phyno: Yeah. I’ve been a producer for about eight years. I’ve always loved music and when I wanted to start making my own recordings then; this was in the East. I couldn’t get any producer to give me what I wanted. So I said the best way to do it is to take the bull by the horns and I started learning production. I taught myself production basically, nobody taught me.” The rapper says he moved to lagos in 2008 to make his career more professional. And it was then he decided to move in Rapping in year 2010. Him doing Indigenous Igbo Rap has never been so cool ever since. The multiple hits to his credit as a producer and rapper, Phyno is putting final touches on his official debut album “No Guts, No Glory” slated to drop before the end of 2013. He talked about how he produced for singers like Timaya and others and how he ment Illbiss who lead him to their record label master Clarence Peters. And then he got himself signed to the capital hills record!
Before he got signed he made a single ‘Multiply’ in which he featured many star artistes like timaya and others which actually showed him a little bit to the world.
He is inspired by the very popular Yoruba rapper OLAMIDE as he says. See what he has to say in an interview about him; “Phyno: Hmmm, bad guy. The first time I heard Olamide on ‘Eni Duro’, I was like waoow. I’m saying it on air for the first time, Olamide inspires me a lot. I told him one on one and he laughed about it. He was like you inspire me too, but I know it was just wash. But I was being honest. Olamide brought out a different part of me that I had previously taken for granted. I knew I always had it, but I never took it serious. That’s the indigenous part of me. If you listen to ‘Multiply’, I rapped everything in English, apart from the Igbo chorus. But it was different on ‘Ghostmode’. When it comes to rap…..i envy him.”
In 2013 him and Olamide became really close which made them do many things together sing together go out together and more………………………. He got close other big artistes in 2013.
To some he’s Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, but to most, he’s the ‘Man of the year’, Phyno.
